The collection media is 150 mg of activated carbon in a PTFE binder. 

Starting with lot 12A09 (December 2009), the media was updated from coconut charcoal to activated carbon.  The sampling rates increased approximately 40%, which means the reporting limits decreased about 40%.

Due to the volatile nature of the Anesthetic Gases, when the sample comes back to the lab for analysis, the glassware and solvent must be made cold before the extraction is performed by putting them in a freezer.

Recommended Sampling Time:

• Sample during time the gas is in use.
