QUALIFICATIONS/BACKGROUND:
In 2004, Assay Technology announced it had concluded an agreement with Miller-Nelson
Research, Inc. (MNR), of Monterey, California, to acquire MNR's Respirator
Cartridge and Canister Test Facility. This acquisition positioned Assay
Technology to assume Miller-Nelson's long-held position as the leading
independent laboratory for evaluation of cartridges and canisters used in
air-purifying respirators.
Under the terms of the agreement, MNR's Cartridge and
Canister Life Test Facility was installed as a unit of Assay's AT Labs facility in
Livermore,
California. To ensure and maintain the ongoing quality of services, Gary Nelson,
President and Founder of MNR, entered into a long-term agreement to
collaborate with Assay Technology as consultant and advisor in respirator
evaluation.
Miller-Nelson Research Inc. had been testing air purifying respirators since 1972 and
has performed over 17,000 individual tests using over 450 different materials. Currently we perform all the NIOSH and European gas and vapor respirator qualification tests for the vast majority of respirator manufacturers, as well as their suppliers of sorbents. We also have provided service life information to over 500 end users. |
